Looking for parents of King Hiram CAPLINGER b ca 1808 in Tennessee, md Rebecca Elizabeth KIRBY ca 1826/1832, nine children born in Benton County, TN. Hiram died in the Petersville, VA prison hospital of pneumonia during the Civil War. Have many descendants - believe he may be related to the Wilson/DeKalb Counties (TN) Caplingers. Must be close relative of Samuel Caplinger, md Martha Carter, as children Samuel 16, Lucinda 14, John 10 and Pernesy 8, living in King Hiram Caplinger household in 1850 census. These children also went with Elizabeth (Betsy or Sarah) when she went to MO after the war.
Would be happy to share Caplinger information with anyone with this surname in their lineage.
Please email to Zojea@aol.com.
