I too am related to Nancy Elezabeth Caplinger O'Neal. This is what I have: Nancy's son, Samuel, was probably named after her Uncle Samuel Caplinger, the younger brother of her father, Leonard. Leonard was married to Anna Ault, who had the distinction of being captured by Indians as a young girl. Anna and Leonard had 13 children, of which Nancy is one. Later in her life, Anna ended up in Williamson Co., IL, living with her son, Wm Martin Shoebe Caplinger. She died after 1860. It is reported that Samuel and his wife were later captured by Indians when he was 84. He was supposedly killed and scalped because he could not go on any farther. Got more if you need it.
