Do you know how the Caplener spelling came about? Also, can you describe how the names Caplinger, Caplenor, and Caplener are pronounced? My most recent relatives and friends from AR pronounced Caplener as Cap leen' er. I recently spoke with a Caplenor in TN and she pronounced it the same way.
