From McBride's helpful book on Common Please Court records of Highland County, Ohio 1805-1860: John Caplinger vs Susanah Caplinger. Filed March 6, 1835. Divorce. Plaintiff alleges that he married Susanah Rader Apr. 14, 1811 in Adams County, Ohio, and moved to Highland County shortly thereafter. Defendant left him Nov. 7, 1831. Grounds: Absent for more than three years. Defendant in her Answer states that in about 26 years of marriage she bore plaintiff ten children. Because of plaintiff's extreme cruelty she left him to live with her father in Adams Co., OH, and still resides with her father there. (Supreme COurt Record B, p. 562)
