Hello Elizabeth ,

Yes I am aware of a lot of the Cappleman family history in
England , however I am sorry to say I have never found any connection between those Capplemans in England and your branch of the Capplemans in the states. The Cappleman family in England can all be traced to a small fishing town called Filey in East Yorkshire,England. However i have only been able to trace any direct connection back to the early 1700's although the name in the form of Cappleshon can be found in the registers back to the 1600,s .As to where they come from ? i have not yet found out, various ideas can be found including the origins in Germany . I have found no one from England emigrating to the states
and I have been in touch with W.F Cappleman who lived in the United states who agreed with me . I presume you are aware of the book, which was written by W.F. Cappleman jnr the book is entitled 'A History and genealogy of George and Jacob Cappleman of Newberry,South Carolina '
which covers the Cappleman branch of the family in the States.

Best wishes Peter
