I've been studying this tree and I probably don't have it
right, but here goes. According to the "Sligh" bio at
dutchforkchapter, my Catherine Cappleman, b. July 29, 1759 married first, Nicholas Sligh b. ca 1755, d. ca 1790 and married second, Peter Quattlebaum, b. April 4, 1765. Her birthdate is the same as the one of a Catherine Cappleman, daughter of Jacob Cappleman died 3/1/1792 Newberry, SC, but according to that deed I was talking about, the same Jacob Cappleman is stated to have Elizabeth Lagrone as his wife.
From your previous entry, it looks like George Cappleman and Lovey Tar/Farr are the parents of the Jacob Cappleman that died 3/1/1792. At, I found William Farr's b. date at 1729 in Va.,and death d. March2,1794, unknown as his wife, and Elizabeth Farr as daughter. It says William is also the father of Lovey Farr, and her as the mother of Catherine Cappleman b.July 29, 1759 d. November 4, 1806. But on an FTM file about her it says she has a will dated Sept. 27, 1790, Gls-383 Newberry Probate, box 361 pkg. 22 estate 189. Then in another file it says Ann Catherine (Sligh) Cappleman, remarries a Peter Quattlebaum and has a daughter in 1802. It has Peter dead at 1806. Major confusion! Is it possible there were two
Catherine Capplemans and that's what has the death dates not matching? If you know anything else, please write.
Thanks again, Mel
