Alvaro,
I would love to know and would be very greatful to find out some information on Gudelia Carranza Castro. My reasoning for this information is that my great grandfather Frederick Cárdenas says that his mother was Gudelia Carranza. He left saltillo in 1915. I would love to know if he is one of the children of Gudelia. He even named his only daughter after her.
I have been looking for this kind of information for long time. Fred kept his parents info a secret till his death. I only have a few papers that stated his out of country contact was Gudelia Carranza.
He also said he worked in his uncle general store as a bookkeeper, cashier. And often helped out the locals because they didn't have the money to pay his uncle(he was fired for this reason). He was very well educated; he says he was in a Military School just before he left Mexico. The story about what had happened to his school is very similar or not exact to the EL Colegio de San Juan Nepomuceno Saltillo.
He even knew how to play many instruments. And was also in a band called "The Four Black Cats" and traveled on the railroad. That is how he met my Great Grandma Ophelia Ribera Romero out of New Mexico. He worked for the railroad in the US. He ended up in Colorado and brought along his wifes family and took care of everyone. He was married in 1923 in Colorado. He had four children by Ophelia in Colorado.
Because of the railroad he was sent to work in San Francisco, CA. My grandfather Roberto Valentino was the only child to go to San Francisco with his father. Fred said that he went to the World fair at San Francisco in 1914-15 with a uncle. We do not know who! He was also visited in 1949 by an uncle Francisco. Again we do not know last names.
Looking at the wedding Certificate of Gudelia and Manuel Cardenas Cuellar; Adolfo De La Garza was at the wedding. So I would think they we close since Emilio Carranza de la Garza died years before and he was the closest Uncle to her. Since Ursula's daughter Consuela de los Angeles married Manuel's Brother Daniel. Someone from that side would know about Gudelia Carranza Castro.
Can you please help me. I just need to know if they had 1 son named Frederick born about 1899-1900.
So here is a little information,
