I am the daughter of Paul-Arthur Carignan and Réjeane DeLafontaine from Trois-Rivières, Quebec. The family name changed from my great-grandfather, and became only Carignan. In fact the french name was Duclos.I tought that Carignan was added because François Duclos was from the "Carignan Soulières regiment" I can't confirm that, the list of soldiers is not complete. and the wedding date with Jeanne Cerisier in november 1665 does'nt fit the arrival of the regiment. In 1771 I think.
I'm interested on exchanging informations. My tree as been made by Drouin Institute, in 1975.It goes from me to the father of François Duclos dit Carignan in France.
