Carl in New Brunswick, Canada
Based on a death record, I believe that my 3rd great grandmother might have been named Rosannah Carl. The spelling of her given name is uncertain and another death record, the surname might have been McArdle (unfortunately). These death records are for two of her daughters, who died in Massachusetts at the turn of the last century, and the misfortune is that while each record states their mother's name as Rosannah, one has her maiden name as Carl and the other as McArdle. I can imagine dropping the Mc and slurring the Ardle, but I don't know if it represents bad memory or a purposeful change. Presumably, the informants would have been children or husbands or surviving in-laws, so errors wouldn't be surprising
All I know about her is that she was likely born in Ireland and migrated to New Brunswick, Canada, where she married Francis Sinnett (spellings vary) who was of French origin and farmed in Queens and Charlotte Counties. It is possible that Rosannah was known as Hannah. She was probably born around 1810 and died before 1879.
I'd be very grateful for any information or insights.
