Kathy, can you give me more info. on your John Carlin, in what state and county are you speaking of, and dates. I know of John's and James' Carlins. Felix I have not come across, nor Ashley's. Were they in NW. NC? A Carlin went to Greenville, Sc. in 1800 with Nathaniel and Edward Stewart, on the 1810 census for Buncombe county, Nc there is one Carlin, I suspect he followed Nathaniel and Edward there. Daniel Carlin was the Captain of the Henry County, Va militia group 1778. The Carlins came from Ireland, Daniel Carlin was Justice of the Peace of Patrick County, Va. a wealthy land owner and many slaves. Teresa Stuart de Rios
