CARLINGS OF MANCHESTER

Hello Mike,
I must read Sylvia's follow-up in a minute.
I was told as a youngster that our people of old came over from Norway.
In recent years I've read that the earliest historical record is from 831 A.D. when the vikings came to Ireland and established a colony at Carlingford Lough which is on the northeast coast of Ireland.
The ancient viking capitals were at Dublin and York.
There is more on my CARLING web page at:

I would love to chat with you more!
My own ancestors came down from YORK to LONDON (Mile End)
around 1820.
Sincerely,
Brian John Carling
