Lori, This sounds like the family of William and Jude Carnagey. I am the descendant of their daughter Esther and Robert Agnew. Esther's brother William C. Carnagey was born in Bucks County in 1755, and died in East Liverpool, OH, in 1841. He was married to Mary Swem 1769-1865. They had 12 children, including a George. Seems as if Mary would have been too old to have a child in 1821 (date of birth of your George). Maybe your George is a grandson. Many Carnageys of this family did end up in Missouri.

My take on the Carnagey genealogy is posted at

Dale Carnegie was also a descendant of this family!
