Carnell or Cornell
Posted by: Charles Cornell (ID *****3938) Date: January 22, 2011 at 14:59:21

Has anyone had someone in their family line change their name from Carnell to Cornell? I am researching my g.g.grandfather Henry Cornell from the UK. In the US in 1860's he was known as Henry Cornell. All the records I find in England have the name Carnell. I'm sure it's the same person. Even the ship record of when he immigrated to the United States in 1860 lists him as Henry Carnell. I have found birth records for his two daughters born in St. George, Hanover Square under the name Carnell. Also the marriage record to Eliza Mendham.
