I am trying to find information on the Carpenter family of New York. My gg-grandparents were: CHARLES J. CARPENTER b.Jan 25, 1860 in Pompey, Onondaga co, New York d.in Oriskaney about 1956 and HARRIET JANE EASTON b. Aug 17,1862 Oriskany, New York d.1945 Oriskany New York. Thier Children were Grace, Stella, George, Charles, Floyd, Florabell, Harold, Lester, Irene, Walter, Lauretta. Their last child was born in 1905. Family lore stated that our name was origininally Carpentier, or something like that.
I found some info on Charles' family of origin: CHARLES CARPENTER was the son of Mr. and Mrs. CHARLES CARPENTER SR. "Who came to the Central New York area from Canada"
I know that CHARLES JR. had sisters named Cora, Jewel, Liza, and a brother named Fred. I have been unable so far to find them in any record, or place them into any other Carpenter Lineage. If anyone is related or has any information on this family please get back to me ASAP, I'm desperate. I have many News clippings and family photos for anyone working on these ppl. I hope to hear from someone soon.
