the only one i know of that may have been originally carpentier is sarah jane belway or bellway, born probably Christmas day, probably in 1850 in Upper Canada (ontario) or maybe a few years earlier. rumored to be quebeqois, with some documentation to back that up. most documents say belway, but youngest son george hyde's 1939 chicago death certificate says carpentier, which corroborates a possibility given by my grandmother (her granddaughter). possible parents Leo and Sarah Belway, Markham Twp., Home district.
