Hi Frieda,
I think Walker Carrington born 1805 NC was a son of Thomas Carrington of Orange Co NC (I don't have proof though). Walker was in Henderson Co TN 1830-1840, in Tippah MS 1850, and Conrad AR 1860. Thomas Carrington disappeared from NC around 1820, and I suspect he migrated west.
Have you found any records of Walker Carrington's middle name? I had in my notes his name might be Walker L. Carrington but I can't find my source.
He was near my ancestor, John E. Carrington (son of Ephraim Carrington) and some other cousins in TN 1830-1840 and probably in MS. My ancestor John E. was born 1797 Orange NC (married Jennie Smith #1 and then Polly Ashley 1818). John E was in Carroll Co TN 1830, Henderson TN 1840, and in Marshall Co MS in 1841. He died in Marshall Co MS 1844 with Walter S. Carrington administering.
John E. Carrington's children (some yet to be proven) included John D. Carrington born c1826 Orange NC married Nancy Darnell in Carroll Co TN, Nelson D. Carrington dec'd 1841 Marshall Co MS, and probably Walter S. Carrington (who administered John E's estate) and Paul J. Carrington (who provided security for the estate administration).
The Paul J. Carrington born 1825 Halifax Co VA (a distant cousin) was in Hempstead AR 1850 and back in Halifax VA shortly thereafter. I need to figure out his link Or lack thereof).
Thanks, Gary
Thanks,
GaryI've found was the VA branch (Halifax Co) born 1825. He was in Hempstead Co AR 1850 and in VA thereafter. I can't figure out why he would have been in MS (if it was him).
