Where did Carrow/Karrow originate?

Could someone tell me the history of the German name Karrow? What other original German surnames might have been changed to this spelling?

My grandmother was born in Chautauqua County, NY and I believe her name was changed to Karrow from some other spelling. I cannot find any other link to her in that area of NY.

I'm obviously new to this, so I greatly appreciate any guidance. Thenk you!
