I have more information regarding the Carrows in Norfolk Co.,Ontario. Catherine Carrow was the daughter of Joseph Carrow and Margaret Smith. My g-g-grandmother and my g-g-grandfather were Rachel Carrow and John Smith who were brother and sister to Joseph and Margaret. The parents of the Carrows were Michael Carrow and Mary Wilson. Michael Carrow was born about 1789 or 1780 and died Aug.26,1848.He is buried in Salem United cemetery in Norfolk Co., Ontario.
I believe Michael's background is French in origin and the spelling of the name may have originally been Carreaux.I don't know if he came from the U.S. as a United Empire Loyalist or perhaps from Lower Canada (Quebec). Any INfo. from anyone would be great!
