I scanned most of the posts from 1998 to 2010 and did not see any of my Carsons listed? The father is Joseph (C or B) Carson who was allegedly born about 1863 in Mississippi. He moved to Texas about 1895(?), to New Mexico before 1910, and then is on the Census for 1910 and 1920 in Sayre, Beckham County, Oklahoma. He may have been married at least three times. Three older daughters are known: Mary (Mills?), Carrie (Green?), and Meddie (Davis). It is believed that Meddie was the youngest of the three and was born about 1893 in Mississippi. In the 1910 census, the wife is named Annie (b. abt 1881 in Alabama); In the 1920 census, the wife is Johnanna (b. abt 1878 in Arkansas). Children listed for these two wives are: Gladys (Wilkes)(b. abt 1897), Joseph B (born abt 1902), Oran Carl (b. 1905), Eva (b. 1909 in N.M.), Fred (b. abt 1912), Louise (b. abt 1915), James G. (b. abt 1917), and Bonnie M. (b. abt 1919). It is thought that Gladys, Joseph, and Oran Carl may have been born in Texas while the youngest children were born in Oklahoma? The elder Joseph Carson is believed to have died in or near Odessa, Ector County, Texas after 1945. Joseph Jr. did some prison time as a young man. Gladys was married to Thomas Jefferson Wilkes in 1916 and had several children: Carroll Harold , Opal Lucy, Wilma, Frances, Truett George, Herman Odel, Donald, Troy Gene, and Kenneth Ray Wilkes. Meddie Carson Davis died about 1937 and is my g-grandmother. Any help or information on these Carsons and what happened to them would be greatly appreciated.
