Thought I could help a bit. Kits descendants are pretty well documented as living mostly out west. Any Carson kin remaining in NC (where Kit's father Lindsey was from) are probably descendants of Kit's uncle Capt. Andrew Carson. Andrew Carson 1756-1841 was known to have remained in NC married to Temperance Young. Andrew was a captain in the Revolutionary war and reportedly carried the Baron DeKalb from a stream when he was shot by a British sniper. There were also other Carson cousins in NC, one named William who mentioned Kit's grandfather (another William) in his will as well as a Samuel Carson (unknown relation) and a Robert (bother of William of the will, not Kits grandfather).
