Ann,

Our Cartledges originated in the High Peak and migrated to Manchester sometime in the late 1790s. Our earliest ancestor is Adam Cartledge who married Ganer Calvert in Manchester Cathedral on the 8 Jun 1797.

One of the sons of Adam and Ganer, James, married Alice Yates and it is this line I am following.

Will let you know via this site of any developments.

Cheers

Keith
