Hi Mike,
Thanks for getting back.

I have gone back to Francis Cartledge, christened in 1838 in Rochdale. His parents were Isaac and Mary. I can not find anything else about them. Isaac was either a Carter or a carder in the cotton industry.

Francis had a sister called Jane who was born around 1840.

Francis married Jane Drinkwater in 1857 at Manchester Cathedral.

They had several children including

Clara b 1858
Sophia b 1865
Francis b 1867
Mary b 1870
Isaac b 1872
Robert b 1874
Arthur b 1876.

Francis (the son) married Catherine Dolman (nee White) at Manchester Cathedral in 1891.

They had John Arthur in April 1893 (he was my grandfather).

All were in and around Cheetham, Newton Heath and Hulme.
If you come across any information on Isaac Iwould be greatly interested.

Ann
