In my Horn(e) family I have a Mary, who was married to Benjamin Horn b.bef.1733, d.03 May 1798, and lived in Edgefield County, SC. By the time Benjamin's estate was settled in 1806, I have reason to believe that Mary had remarried Rev. Samuel Cartledge from Columbia County, GA. It was the second marriage for both of them. Soon after the Revolution, Samuel moved to SC. According to the Leonardo Andrea Papers, Rev. Samuel Cartledge was married to two women, and the second one was named Mary. According to his pension application, Samuel had been married twice and had outlived both wives. He died in Georgia in 1843, killed accidentally by his horse, at the age of 93.
