Edmund was in Bladen Co., NC(portion that later became Anson Co.)by the early 1740s. His land was on Cartledge Creek. I have read that there is still a Cartledge Creek church in the area. He recieved several land grants in GA beginning in 1762. Edmund's father and uncle(Edmund and John)were also Indian traders. Were the Cartledges and Polks in business together or did Charles and Christina Polk take over her father's business?
