I have genealogical papers, professionaly prepared for DAR membership, which differ from your information.
These papers show Edmund Cartledge III born in Darby, PA on 10/28/1712 and died in Augusta GA in 1791, having 5 sons (John. Edmund IV, Joseph, James, and Samuel). All were Revolutionary War soldiers. Samuel was born in June of 1750.
in Anson Co. now Richmond Co. NC. He is refered to as Rev. Samuel Cartledge.Sr. Edmund III's son Joseph Col.RS , married Dilly Landers Page at the Kiokee Baptist Churdh. Joseph was named for his uncle John Joseph Cartledge the son of Edmund Jr. and the brother of Edmund III. Joseph's only son Samuel was born in 1795 and died in 1846. He was a member of the Kiokee Baptist Church, but is never referred to as a minister.
