I'm looking for my sibling, born April 20,1978 in Petersburg, VA. Birth name was Melissa Lee Carwile, but I believe that has changed. She wasn't put up for adoption, but more than likely sold black market, sad to say. My parents were Michael Carroll Carwile, born in Petersburg, VA on April 21, 1954 and died on Sept. 11, 1999, and my mother was Janet Lee Ward Carwile, born in Pennsylvania on March 22, 1953 and died March 15, 2002. I was born April 22, 1980 in Petersburg, VA and my brother, Joseph Francis Michael Carwile was born on March 8, 1985, still living. Birth Certificate for Melissa Lee Carwile confirms April 20 birthday. I have searched endlessly for a death certificate, with no succuss. Please, if anyone has any information, let me know. Did anyone know my parents personally? Does anyone remember their first-born daughter "passing away"? There is a grave site in Southlawn Memorial Park in Petersburg, VA for my sister. However, nobody ever saw the baby, or a body, not even my parents. She was taken directly after birth and my parents were told she died of a birth defect. The doctor then denied my parents seeing the baby. Sounds kinda fishy, doesn't it? I know that my father had located numerous Carwiles in Virginia and across the country before he died. Most of his findings were made in 1998 and early 1999. To the best of my knowledge, some of these Carwiles lived in Pamplin, VA. There were also some in KY. I am keeping eyes and ears open, hoping someone knows something. Please don't hesitate to respond. Thank you for your time.
