Thanks for your rapid reply! Re: Anna W. McMahan Thomason, my ggg grandmother_-- proof is taken from various Census as well as her obit. in Southern Christian Advocate which states:
"Sister Anna W. Thomason, consort of Robert, died in her 43rd year in the Greenville District. Born 1810, daughter of William McMahan,formerly of this district, and niece of Rev. Levi Garrison."

William McMahan was 2m/Nancy Garrison (sister of Levi)daughter of David Garrison and Hannah Pickett.

Levi and David were Methodist ministers as was Robert Thomason.

Is there anything in the book you have that tells further of the McMahan family?
