Castleton (Caselton)

I am researching my partners family tree and was hoping you may be able to help.

I believe from information received the Castleton and Caselton are the same with some of the Castleton's changing to the other spelling in the 1800's.

I have a Virginia Castleton born in British Columbia in 1914.

What i am trying to link together at the moment is a relationship between William Charles Castleton b 1854 in Crayford, kent married Matilda in 1872, They emigrated to New Zealand in 1875 on the ship HMS Alumbagh with there son William.

Thomas Caselton B 1828 in Crayford Kent. He married Mary Ann Joseph in 1849. I have been told that they are father and son but i am not sure.

Any information would be gladly appreciated.

Regards

Julie Preston
