Cashel's - San Francisco 1891 to mid 1940's

I am trying to locate any information that would help me to locate the birth parents of Echo Celine "Mae" Allen. She was born in San Francisco. It is said that her father may have been a merchant seaman who had red hair and his surname was Allen. When her mother died, sometime in the early 1900's, she was "adopted" by Mary and Katherine "Kate" Cashel. I don't know if it was a legal adoption or if they were good friends or relatives who just took her in. Mary & Kate had a brother name George. Their parents may have been Frank and Catherine Cashel.

Mae lived with the Cashel's until she married Clarence Harrison in 1920.
