Hi Tammy.

Having a look through the Tasmanian Archives, the only name that comes close is Michael Errold Cashion. Given the spelling differences and high illiteracy rates back then, it wouldn't surprise me if names were reversed and misspelled. My ancestor John Cashion from Tasmania has his surname spelled 'Cashin', 'Cashen', and his father and brother had 'Cassin'. The same for my Morant family side, with 'Morrant' and 'Moriant' used for the children.

Michael Errold had a sister Elsie Gladys born 1894. If that's the right one, there are 6 other siblings and the father is identified as Eugene Cashion born 1861.

My tip is to start with the Tasmanian Archives Office online search. All the Cashions I know of in Australia came from the 6 Cashion brothers who came to Tasmania from Ireland, so you are likely to find you are related to Hugh and Bridget Cashion from Portland, Lorrha, Tipperary, Ireland.

Good luck with it,

Larry Cashion
