I'm responding to REALLY old forum messages. :-) I've searched and search SO many ship registries dating before 1700 and all I could find was Casson.

I don't think the Cashon name is Irish even though I initially thought that. I have James Cashon born before 1700 and my search ends there! It's driving me nuts. If anyone has gone beyond that, I'd love to know. I start with James(my dad) and end with James. Weird. :)
