I have learned that the John C. Casner on page 249 of the 1860 Mahaska Co. IA census is John Cambell Casner (b3-8-1828 d3-17-1905) and his wife Rose Virginia Smith (b10-20-1830 d1-17-1887). In 1856 they left IA and moved to Warren County, MO. Two of their children were born in IA and the two youngest were born in MO. They died in MO.
