Who is Isabelle Casner? Calaveras Co., CA
Posted by: Liz Freeman (ID *****1831) Date: October 11, 2003 at 06:30:37

On the 1870 CA Census, Calavera County, San Andreas PO, Smith Township, page 217 enumerated 8-27-1870 is listed the following person.

CASNER, Isabelle, age 27, female, white, keeping house, born in Mexico, parents both born in Mexico.

Does anyone know who this person is? The census does not indicate if she is married or single. Could she be the wife/former wife of one of the Casner brothers (Riley, Moses, William, Daniel, John, Henry, Jonas, Ebenezer, Benjamin, James, Andrew) who mined in Calaveras County from the late 1840s until the mid 1860s?

I would like to hear from anyone who might be able to shed some light on the identify of this person.
