I am seeking information about the Beaver Creek Campus of the Southwestern Academy, a coed facility.
The main campus is in San Marino in Los Angeles.
The Arizona campus, known as Beaver Creek Ranch, is located deep in a red-rock canyon in northern Arizona.
The Beaver Creek campus is a 180-acre ranch located 100 miles north of Phoenix, 12 miles from the resort community of Sedona, and 45 miles south of Flagstaff.
Is anyone familar with the Beaver Creek Ranch campus? Have you been there?
Jincy Jane Casner arrived in Yavapai County, AZ in 4-1875 with her sons Riley, Moses, John, William, and Daniel. John, William, Daniel went on to other places. Riley Casner established the Beaver Creek Ranch where he lived until he died in 1909. As I understand it the Ranch remained in the family for some time thereafter.
Jincy Jane Casner (mother of Riley), Salatia Casner, and a son-in-law to Jincy, were buried on the Beaver Creek Ranch. Jincy Jane Casner is supposed to have died in 1888.
Family lore goes that the Ranch eventualy became a boys school (now coed) and that the three graves remain on the campus (maybe with headstones, but with a plaque commenmorating the family). It's location is supposed to be in a large flower bed or small park.
Is anyone familar with the Beaver Creek Ranch campus? Have you been there? Is there such a plaque?
