I am also trying to trace a New Jersey Casner family from the same area.

In my case it is Joseph Casner, born about 1816 probably near Mercer County, NJ, m. Rachel Vanderveer. Moved to Connecticut about 1850 and then to Chester, Massachusetts about 1860. Four children: Mary, William H., Joanna, and Frank.

So far I keep hitting dead ends on northern New Jersey Casners but I will keep an eye out for your Joseph Casner while looking for mine.
