Rosa CASPARI
Posted by: Merri Abernethy (ID *****9356) Date: June 20, 2003 at 07:00:25

I am looking for documentation on my great grandmother, Rosa CASPARI, born 5-15-1878 in LAUTERBOURG, France (very close to Karlsruhe,Germany)

Her parents are listed in local records as Leopold and Amalie LANDAUER

She married Julius HAAS II of Rulzhiem, Germany and she died at the concentration camp at Gurs, France and is buried (supposedly) by Catholic nuns in northern Spain.

I am trying to resolve the link between what I have recieved from the Lauterbourg authorities and my own research. My grandmother states on some old photos that her grandmother was Fanny CASPARI...quite a mystery, was she adopted by the LANDAUER'S? There was also family stories of a Count (or in this case Comte?)Caspari. We always assumed that Caspari's were of Italian decent, now, I'm not so sure.
Thanks to anyone who can help!
