I doubt it but it's possible. Edward would have been 8 years old and about 13 years David's junior. Maybe a much younger brother. The spelling could be throwing us off. I am pretty certain David's spelling was deliberately spelling "Cassiday" but I saw it spelled differently in a couple of census records. The Cassidy clans of New York are very many.
