I am desperately trying to find more concrete evidence of the marriage of Peter Cassel and Elizabeth Gragg. All I have found is in the on-line book "A History of Pendleton County West Virginia" by Oren F.Morton. In one small section is a little blurb about about the marriage.
"Gragg. Thomas (--- ----)--left a minor daughter, Mary, and appears to have had these sons:--l. Henry. 2. William (Mary --)--d. Jan. 24, 1795. 3. Samuel (Ann Black)--m. 1785?.
A daughter of William was killed by the Indians in 1781. Elizabeth (Peter Cassell--m. 1794) was a daughter of Henry. The family seems afterward to have moved to the South Fork above Sugar Grove.
A few people seem to think Elizabeth's last name was Wells. I have found nothing connecting Peter Cassel and Elizabeth Wells.
Please, if you have any information on Peter Cassel, born 11-19-1768, died 11-25-1854, and who he was married to, please contact me. I appreciate any help at all. Thank You
