With photo < http://www.cartertrent.com/obitdetail.php?id=2027 > Geraldine Castle Atkins, 75, of Kingsport, Sullivan Co TN, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Geraldine was born in Russell Co VA, and spent the majority of her life in Kingsport, TN. She retired from Holston Valley Medical Center with 30 years of service. Geraldine loved collecting dolls and taking photographs. She was of the Christian faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Atkins; her parents, Earl and Hazel Castle; brothers, Donald Castle and wife Ramona, and Billy Joe 'Poochie' Castle and wife Betty Jean; and niece, Krista Castle. She is survived by her brothers, Tony Castle and wife Patricia of Kingsport, TN, and Phil Castle and wife Janice of Church Hill, TN; three step sons, Jamie Atkins, Joey Atkins, and David Atkins; special friends, Ray Carico, C. J. Farmer, and Bud Farmer; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. Friends may also call anytime at either residence of her brothers. A service will follow at 7 p.m., in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Raymond Hammonds officiating. Music will be provided by Jim Larkin and Dan Moneyhun. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m., on Friday, March 12, 2010, at East Lawn Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Those who wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m. Memorials may be sent to Weber City Church of God, Building Fund, 198 Yuma Road, Weber City, VA, 24290.
