Trevor, Two really fascinating novels on English history are SARUM and THE FOREST, by Edward Rutherford. Though the family accounts in the novels are fictitious, for the most part the history of the areas in question are not. In fact, he explains much of this in the preface. That may be where I read about the term "castle town". The novels are just plain good reads, also. Linda Notify Administrator about this message?
