I'll have to see if I can get a copy of the research my late grandmother, Nancy Chestnutt Cater of Montgomery, had done.I do remember the name Silas McPherson Cater in the tree.My late grandfather was Silas Douglass Cater, born May, 1890 in Wetumpka, AL (I'm working from memory, so forgive spelling errors). He had two siblings to my knowledge, William Bohun Cater and Jeanne Francina(?) Cater.
Silas and Nancy had two children, Silas Douglass Cater, Jr. (born 1923, deceased), who served as a Special Assistant to President Lyndon Johnson, and my father, William Bowen Cater, born 1927.
I'll post more later, but hello to all the Cater kin out there!
William Bowen Cater, Jr.
