Hi Vince,
I went to Kew the other day and looked in to the Nova Scotia records.
I found William Cattgutt in the Nova Scotia Regiment of volunteers serving 25th June -24th December 1796 under command from Windsor Nova Scotia. He serves in subsequent periods but this is his first reference. A foot note scribbled says 'on board the Asia'.
There are a number of hulk ships around ,that the regiment control and I will have to do further research to see if this is his arrival on the Asia or stationed on the Asia.
Anyway it is a good start.
Hope you are well,
Regards Simon.
