Greetings, I am a descendant of John Cathcart, b.15 Oct. 1763 in County Antrim, Ireland. m. Mary Boulger (b. 1767) of County Antrim, Ireland, also. He settled in Rock Hill, SC, USA, and then came to southern Indiana in 1813 with brothers, Hugh, Joseph and possibly another John or John Joseph and possibly another John or John William, also sisters Mary and Elizabeth. His wife, Mary Boulger was the dau. of Michael Boulger and Sara Faulkner. They had 4 children: William, Joseph, Mary (wife of Adam Simmons), adn Pearson,(from whom I am descended) b. June 10, 1795, d. September 7, 1834. I would like to know what took them to Ireland from Glasgow, and to fill in the hole of lineage from John back to Rainaldus, of Kethkart, who was given the land on the Cart River by William the Conqueror. Of course, I would like to get back even further, but only time will tell if that is possible. If you would like more info on this line, I will send copies of what I have (lineage, maps, history written in 1920, etc.) William was in the legislature in York (co.) SC and in Indiana. He is buried in Livonia, IN, and I have been there and have a picture of his monument. Sadly Mary must have died in SC, and he is buried alone in IN. I hope this is helpful, but I would like info on their Scottish-Irish history also. Notify Administrator about this message?
