There are several Alexanders here, one is a cousin to David. I think he was born in Co Antrim, Ireland about 1774, married Margaret Carnaughan and had nine children, Alexander Carlisle b 1801 (this Alexander married Jane Cunningham and had two children, a son who died in the American War between the States and a daughter Margaret), Agnes b 1804, James b 1806, Ann 1808, John 1811, David 1814, Margarite 1817, Mary 1829 and William Samuel 1823.

Next is my ggg grandfather, Alexander born in Co Antrim Ireland about 1810, married Eliza Jane Boyd in Quebec,Canada 1899. They had seven children -- William John 1849, Benjamin Franklin 1847, David Boyd 1815, James Alexander 1844, Mary 1835, Elizabeth 1838 and Sarah 1838.

Does anyone here ring a bell?
