David Cathcart (m: Melissa Hollinger) abt 1763-1845

I have traced my lineage back to this David Cathcart, who married Melissa Hollinger of County Antrim. Melissa died at sea as David and his children (of my line, his son Robert) emigrated to the U.S.

I have recently seen a trace that says David's father was Elias Cathcart (unk - 1798) who married Agnes (unk), and who had a father also named David. I am seeking information to verify so I can further trace back.

I have found an Elias Cathcart listed with a son named David who fits the timeline. This Elias Cathcart was from Aynesbury, but I can't imagine the "son of Lord Aynesbury" choosing to be a pioneer in the new world. :)

Thanks!
