I understand that my Cathcarts originated in Lankershimshire, Scotland.

They received a land grant after fighting under Robert the Bruce.

Mary, Queen of Scotts, stayed there after her husband was killed. Our castle was destroyed after she left (because of the memory of sadness).

We eventually followed the textile industry to the colonys in the mid 18th century. When the industry began to fail, the family fragmented with some traveling south.

All this is verbal history.
