Hi again.First of all, I think I made a mistake when I was talking about Harvey.I mentioned the 1920 Soundex.I don't have him on the 1920; only the 1900 and 1910. In 1910, he was 31 and his wife, Leona, was 24.
I have John on the 1910 and 1920 Soundexes.
1910 says he was 37 years of age and born in Tennessee. His wife is listed as Maggie, age 24, born in Texas. Two children: daughter, Bessie, 5, born in Missouri; son, David, 2, born in Missouri.
1920 Soundex says John W. Cathey is 47 years old and born in Tennessee. His wife is listed as Lula, 26, born in Tennessee.Children listed are daughter Bessie L, 16, born in Missouri; son David O., 12, born in Missouri; step-daughter, Runa Huddison, 10, born in Arkansas; step-daughter, Vergie Huddison, 7, born in Missouri; step-daughter, Vady Huddison, 5, born in Missouri; step-son, R. V. Cathey, 2/12, born in Missouri; boarder, Louis Moore, 58, born in Indiana.
This two-month-old R. V. Cathey being listed as a STEP-SON kind of snows me.That's what I copied though.
That's all I have on the New Madrid Catheys.Good luck.Harvey is a common name but, you know, I haven't run across many Catheys named Harvey.A lot of Catheys lived in Tennessee, didn't they?My own line came directly from North Carolina to Missouri before 1820.
