FORMER JANESVILLE PAINTER IS DEAD.

Evansville: Hiram Cater, 78, died Thursday at a Janesville hospital after being in failing health for six months following the flu.
The son of Hiram and Melvina Kimball Cater, he was born in Leyden Sept. 8, 1860 and grew to young manhood there. A painter by trade, he lived in Madison and Janesville a number of years. He married a Janesville girl.
Survivors are a son, Russell (Madison); two brothers, George (Evensville) and Charles (Minocqua); and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2PM Saturday in the Roderick funeral home (Evansville) the Rev. Arthur Edwards, pastor of the Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery (Janesville).
