Perhaps they are not the same, but perchance related. I have an Alexander Cattanach whose sister Sarah Cattanach married James Stuart in Aberdeen. Their second daughter Mary was my ggrandmother. Alexander and Sarah had another sister Margaret. Sound familiar?
