Andrew Caughman, Lexington, SC, Rev.War

I'm working on a DAR supplemental paper of Andrew Caughman. The only thing I have left in order for this paper to be approved is that his residence must be proven between April 1775 & November 1783. The DAR says that acceptable documentation would be tax records or deeds. If you have any kind of document, except military, that will put Andrew in the above time frame, I would be most appreciative.

I know that on March 8, 1792, Christopher Kaughman & his brother, Andrew, executed a deed covering 16 acres of land to Salem Church, Leesville, SC. This land was cut from an original tract of 400 acres granted to these brothers and located on Big Hollow Creek in the Orangeburg District. William F. Arthur, July 10, 1787, made the survey of this land. I'm trying to locate a copy of this original deed of 400 acres because just maybe there will be a date showing that these brothers acquired this land during the time frame I mentioned above.

If I can establish Andrew with the DAR it will open up the opportunity for others to join the DAR, SAR, & CAR on his line.
